Reconhecer e usar o método apropriado para fatorar completamente um polinômio
Agora você se familiarizou com todos os métodos de fatoração necessários neste curso. (Em seu próximo curso de álgebra, mais métodos serão adicionados ao seu repertório.) A figura abaixo resume todos os métodos de fatoração que abordamos. A figura\(\PageIndex{1}\) descreve uma estratégia que você deve usar ao fatorar polinômios.
- Existe um fator comum maior?
- Considere isso.
- O polinômio é binomial, trinomial ou há mais de três termos?
- Se for um binômio:
é uma soma?- De quadrados? As somas dos quadrados não levam em consideração.
- De cubos? Use o padrão de soma de cubos.
- De quadrados? Fator como produto dos conjugados.
- De cubos? Use a diferença do padrão de cubos.
- Se for um trinômio:
é da forma\(x^{2}+b x+c ?\)? Desfaça FOIL.
É do formulário\(a x^{2}+b x+c\)?- Se aa e cc forem quadrados, verifique se eles se encaixam no padrão do quadrado trinomial.
- Use o método de tentativa e erro ou “ac”.
- Se tiver mais de três termos:
use o método de agrupamento.
- Se for um binômio:
- Verifique.
- É totalmente fatorado?
- Os fatores se multiplicam de volta ao polinômio original?
Lembre-se de que um polinômio é completamente fatorado se, além dos monômios, seus fatores forem primos!
