第 1926.32 条将 “合格人员” 定义为能够识别周围或工作条件中对员工不卫生、有害或危险的现有和可预测的危险，并有权立即采取纠正措施消除这些危害的人。 请记住，有能力的人的要求因标准而异。 就第 P 小节 “挖掘” 而言，一个人可以成为合格人员，但不能成为 N 小节 “起重机” 的合格人员。 定义的另一个关键部分是，主管人员必须能够采取 “迅速纠正措施” 以消除任何危险。 如果该人知情，但没有纠正权限，他们就不可能成为合格的人。
可接受的认证
一些根据工程设计和制造标准设计的关键设施或工厂设备需要获得确保工人安全的认证。
压力容器
保险公司或监管机构出具的有效有效证明应被视为雇主提供的压力容器安全安装、检查和测试的可接受证据。
锅炉
如果保险公司或监管机构出示了证明安全安装、检查和测试的最新有效认证的证据，则雇主提供的锅炉应被视为符合本部分的要求。
