无论其起源如何，伦理学几乎可以肯定存在于整个人类时代，并且因语言、文化、历史和地理而异（图 5.1）。 但是，有没有超越时间和地点的潜在价值观呢？ 如果是，商业道德协议是否体现了这些价值观？ 例如，我们在迪拜看到对他人的尊重，那里的谈判伴随着茶水；在东京，正式的言论和弓箭是第一位的；在利马，对家族的礼貌询问优先于做生意。 因此，尊重是一种普遍价值观吗？
简而言之，商业道德准则在多大程度上受文化、时间和地理的制约？ 鉴于个人只对自己的行为负责，商业道德有可能普及吗？
