הערכת אמנות חוקרת ביסודיות כיצד איכות נקבעת ונוצרת על ידי אמנים על מנת להעריך ולהעריך אמנות ברמה עמוקה יותר. קורס זה מדגיש מדוע כל נושא תורם להערכת יצירת אמנות ומספק את הידע הדרוש לשם כך. התלמידים מתוודעים לראשונה לאלמנטים ועקרונות האמנות ולחשיבות ההקשר והפרספקטיבה של האמנים. לאחר מכן הקורס מכסה תקופות שונות בתולדות האמנות, טכניקות שונות באמנות וכיצד לחקור ולהעריך אמנות.
