L'Université Ryerson a publié un rapport de 2019 intitulé Defining « Flushability » for Sewer Use. Cette publication avait pour objectif de faire réfléchir le public à deux fois à ce que vous jetez dans les toilettes afin d'économiser de l'argent et de protéger l'environnement. Dans le cadre de cette expérience, ils ont testé 101 produits à usage unique, certains étiquetés (et d'autres non étiquetés) jetables dans les toilettes. Certains des résultats peuvent être vus dans le graphique ci-dessous :
