Visão geral
Alguns dos ambientes mais perigosos que os trabalhadores podem encontrar são as atmosferas de espaços confinados. Os trabalhadores presos em espaços confinados muitas vezes nem sabiam o que os atingiu. Atmosferas tóxicas e com deficiência de oxigênio podem rapidamente superar os trabalhadores. É importante reconhecer as características físicas de um espaço confinado, bem como reconhecer quando o trabalho que afeta a qualidade do ar em espaços mal ventilados produz condições de espaço confinado. Este capítulo identificará os muitos exemplos de espaços confinados e os riscos que devem ser gerenciados ao trabalhar dentro ou perto deles.
