Visão geral
Escorregões, tropeções e quedas são responsáveis por 20% de todos os acidentes, ferimentos e fatalidades no local de trabalho e mais de 35% na indústria da construção. No capítulo 11, o foco estava nos riscos de queda que devem ser gerenciados quando o trabalho deve ocorrer em superfícies elevadas. Neste capítulo, o foco estará nos padrões de projeto estrutural para escadas e também nas características de design e desempenho das escadas. As escadas são portáteis e muito importantes para as atividades de construção. Quedas podem ocorrer a partir de escadas e é importante garantir que essa categoria especial de equipamento de segurança esteja à altura da tarefa.
